FOOD-X TECHNOLOGIES BRINGS ON ATTABOTICS TO STREAMLINE ITS FULFILLMENT OPERATIONS

The partnership will implement Attabotics’ supply chain technology at Food-X fulfillment centers and partner fulfillment centers across the globe. The companies will also explore more business opportunities together, but the initial focus of the partnership will be on streamlining Food-X’s fulfillment technology and operations.

“Attabotics offers an impressive robotic-centric storage and retrieval system that can increase our fulfillment centers’ level of efficiency and speed, something that’s incredibly important as we’re addressing the ongoing dramatic shift in the online grocery delivery industry,” said Food-X Technologies’ CEO Peter van Stolk.

Food-X Technologies has developed software that helps grocery retailers operate fulfillment centres and track food freshness. The company has a focus on sustainability, offering reusable bags, and helping vendors minimize food waste by providing them greater visibility across their inventories.

Food-X recently received $250,000 from the federal government’s Digital Technology Supercluster to lead a new collaboration aimed to develop an e-grocery management system for the provincial government and health authorities in British Columbia.

That initiative was created to deliver groceries to essential workers, non-pandemic patients, and citizens in quarantine due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Other companies that collaborated on the project included Spud, Adaptech, 1QBit, ETG, and Microsoft.

Attabotics sells, designs, manufactures, and implements 3D robotic supply chain systems, which incorporate high-density automated storage and retrieval systems with goods-to-person order fulfillment solutions. The Calgary-based startup was founded in 2016 and raised a $25 million Series B round in July 2019.

“Joining forces with the Food-X platform allows us to deliver the solutions the market needs, resulting in improved efficiency, sustainability and profitability for partner fulfillment centers across the globe,” said Scott Gravelle, Attabotics’ founder, CEO, and CTO.
