Dr. Ray Muzyka Donates $1M to Expand Venture Mentoring Service

At the University of Alberta's Venture Mentoring Service (VMS) rally last week to introduce new mentors and mentees, Sean Price, Associate Vice-President of Alumni Relations, announced a $1 million gift from Dr. Ray Muzyka and Leona De Boer to expand the program. The program is being renamed to ThresholdImpact UAlberta Venture Mentoring Service in recognition of the company they founded.

The contribution is a 10-year commitment. Half of the funds will go toward the VMS program, enabling the addition of one new staff member. The other half will go toward development for the Office of Advancement's fundraising campaign team. Muzyka was the founding board chair for VMS.
