10Adventures is my 3rd high-growth company.
I started my career pre-product at uSwitch.com, a highly successful UK marketplace that innovated in the home services comparison market. I was the product manager responsible for the development of the core products that drove over 95% of revenue. uSwitch.com sold for $330 million USD.
I joined a family business and grew an engineering consulting company from 18 to over 425 people. Along the way I added new product lines, managed cost and schedule on projects up to $500 million and eventually took on the role of COO. While I was COO we were named one of Canada's best employers for 5-straight years, as well as one of Canada's Best Managed Companies. After getting my father retired, I was able to leave Vista to pursue my dream.
I founded 10Adventures because trying to plan an adventure using online tools sucks. The adventure travel industry is not geared to solving user problems, and there is an enormous opportunity to tackle this market. We have a vibrant community of adventure travelers and recently adding a marketplace to connect adventure travelers to great, local tour operators around the world.
Along the way, I have lived and worked in Calgary, Vancouver, Montreal, London (UK), Cambridge and Buenos Aires. I am an alumnus of Harvard Business School and London Business School, where I was a Sloan Fellow.
