I’m the CEO of Curbie, Canada’s first fully-licenced online vehicle retailer. In short, we are the Amazon of used cars.
Curbie brings the the successful online retailing business model for automobiles that’s used by Carvana (NYSE: ‘CVNA’), Shift and Vroom to Canada. Over the last 2.5-years, we’ve raised $4.0M, built a scalable business that uses proprietary technology to automate pricing, gather market intelligence and sell finance and insurance products (the bread and butter of the automotive space). We’ve also built a solid team, including our CTO who came from SkipTheDishes, which sold for $200M in 2016. Through a strategic investor, we’ve gained access to two former employees from Carvana who designed and built the company’s operations and later spun the company out from DriveTime for IPO.
I am a CFA Charterholder. Prior to Curbie, I worked for 3 of Canada’s largest public financial institutions: Business Development Bank of Canada, Export Development Canada, and Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation. I have also founded a number of private companies, including Bridgestarter, which enabled foreign entrepreneurs to launch projects on Kickstarter. Through Bridgestarter, I supported more than 30 projects globally. Early in my career, I also gained experience with venture capital being part of the deal team at Critical Telecom that raised $18M.
