Angela Fong joined AIMCo in 2011 as Chief Corporate & Human Resources Officer. She leads a number of corporate functions such as Corporate Strategy & Planning, Corporate Communications, Human Resources, Procurement and Vendor Management, Government Relations and Board Services. AIMCo is one of Canada’s largest and most diversified institutional investment managers with more than $100 billion of assets under management. AIMCo is responsible for the investments of 32 pension, endowment and government funds in Alberta.
Angela offers over 15 years of executive level experience within a variety of industries. She deeply enjoys being a part of “the build” within an organization, and has extensive experience working with business in developing the sustainable corporate infrastructure and programs necessary for long-term success.
Angela is Board Chair for Edmonton Economic Development Corporation and also serves as Chair of the Governance & Human Resources Committee for the Covenant Foundation Board.
Chris Davey leads DocuSign’s small business web sales & marketing team focused optimizing product adoption, customer retention, and eCommerce international expansion. DocuSign is the market leader in electronic signature and digital transaction management with 200 million users in 188 countries.
Prior to DocuSign Chris spent a number of years leading marketing and product teams for Intuit, one of the world's leading financial software companies. He held a variety of marketing positions in Canada driving growth for Intuit’s premier brands, TurboTax, and QuickBooks. He also established the international product management function responsible for the global expansion strategy and localization of Intuit’s small business SaaS products Worldwide.
Chris holds a Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Alberta. He was raised in Edmonton and spent a few years in Toronto before settling in the San Francisco Bay Area with his wife, and when he isn’t working, he enjoys mountain biking, skiing, paddle boarding, and flying.
Kyle Powell is the co-founder and current President of SureHire Occupational Testing. He is an experienced physiotherapist and a dedicated entrepreneur. After graduating from the faculty of Physical Education (Sport Performance) and Science (Physiotherapy) at the University of Alberta, Kyle began practicing physiotherapy and immediately discovered an unserved need in the market. Fuelled by his unique entrepreneurial instinct, SureHire Occupational Testing was born. Ten years later, SureHire's team of 150+ staff have tested over 500,000 workers and assists employers in creating safe, healthy and productive workforces through comprehensive medical and health testing programs.
Kyle is a valued speaker on Fitness-to-Work testing while providing companies with the insight and resources they need to become employers of choice. His passion for leadership at all levels of the organization is expressed through the volunteer and community mentorship program that his company's core values are embedded in. Kyle is an active member of his community and has been involved with numerous boards including KidSport Edmonton, Alberta Diabetes Foundation and Entrepreneurs’ Organization.
Xenia Kavoun holds an MBA and a MSc in Occupational Therapy. Xenia is currently part of the Edmonton Health Leaders program and is currently a Policy Analyst for the Government of Alberta. Xenia brings her experience and knowledge of governmental institutions to the Trioova team.
Lorena Forester worked with early stage technology companies, entrepreneurs and inventors in various technology commercialization related positions, most notably in the energy and ICT industries.
Since the fall 2014, Lorena has pursued several opportunities. She assists advanced- tech SMEs to leverage non-dilutive funding and support programs and has a part-time business development role in Northern Alberta with the newly formed Kinetica Energy Technology Accelerator powered by Innovate Calgary. Lorena was Strategic Partnerships Manager at TEC Edmonton for 5 years and Venture Manager at the Alberta Research Council (now Alberta Innovates Technology Futures) for 9 years delivering business services to researchers, entrepreneurs and Alberta based start-up and early stage companies and working closely with provincial and federal partners and collaborators. Lorena has direct experience in business operations in both the private and public sectors including Marketing & Operations Manager for a small ICT company and COO of Alberta Women Entrepreneurs.
She is a past board member of the Alberta Clean Technology Industry Association (ACTia) and past Co-Chair of the Licensing Executive Society Edmonton chapter. She is currently an active volunteer mentor for Futurpreneur (formerly Canadian Youth Business Foundation) and more recently the U of A Alumni Venture Mentoring Service.
Aaryn Flynn is the former General Manager and Vice President of BioWare and oversaw projects such as Dragon Age, Mass Effect, Star Wars: The Old Republic, Anthem and others. He is actively involved in the development of cutting edge technologies. He has a BSc in Computer Sciences with a minor in business from the University of Alberta and sits on the Department OF Computing Science Advisory Board.
Meghna Misra held a former role as the Director of Product Management for Intuit. Currently, she is the Vice President of Product for DeVero. She has a MS in Computer Engineering from the University of Massachusetts and has experience as a Principal Group Manager with Microsoft. She has led innovative SaaS and mobile products in early stage startup environments in the past brings needed expertise to the board of advisors.
