The Alberta-Europe Technology Collaboration Fund is a program developed by the Alberta Ministry of Economic Development, Trade and Tourism and administered by the German-Canadian Centre for Innovation and Research (GCCIR). The aim of the program is to support Albertan SMEs in joint, innovative technology development projects undertaken together with European partners. The GCCIR can provide up to $250,000 CAD in funding per project. The Albertan company is required to match GCCIR funding with a combination of cash and in-kind contributions. European partners apply for external funding in their respective jurisdiction.
In order to help Albertan companies find suitable partners with whom to apply to the Alberta-Europe Technology Collaboration Fund, the GCCIR organizes annual Matchmaking Missions to Europe. The matchmaking missions include a maximum of five matchmaking symposia in different cities/countries that introduce mission attendees to potential partners invited and selected specifically to address their stated technology needs. Destinations in 2019 include Barcelona, Namur (Belgium), Düsseldorf, Prague, and Vienna.
This Information Session and Networking Reception will provide you with an opportunity to learn more about the Alberta-Europe Technology Collaboration Fund and 2019 Matchmaking Mission to Europe, get a glimpse of the European side of the program and an introduction to the German/European economic landscape, and to connect and learn first-hand from companies that have undertaken successful projects through the Alberta-Europe Technology Fund.
Light snacks and a cash bar will be available.
